Farkhad & Maya's Family Hotel was one of first private guest houses in Uzbekistan to open its doors to Western tourists. In 1996 we were the pioneers of Bukhara tourism when we accommodated guests from the American Homestay Company.

The positive response we received for our Uzbek hospitality led other guests and to the formation of the officially recognised private company - Farkhad and Maya. The business gained a good reputation an soon we were assisting foreign visitors to obtain airline tickets and navigate the local bureaucracy of for visa support. This was in the era before computers or the internet was common in our country!

We joined the internet age in 1999 and we were once again pioneers, by providing web based tourism in Uzbekistan. Within two years we had expanded to offering short and long stay tours around our beautiful country. We delivered tours to global travel agencies and tailor made trips for individuals. The hotel had been upgraded to provide the facilities expected by European and American visitors, whilst retaining the family atmosphere that made us special. Internet and Wi-fi are now standard.

Our links to the French and US Embassies enabled us to organise events and conferences for governments, corporate clients and NGOs such as OSI, OSCE, BBC, IREX, TACIS, ABN-Amro Bank and MTS (former-UzDunRobita).

Your safety in our hotel is our high priority.

• Hotel equipped with fire alarm and has necessary anti-fire equipment.


• Access to hotel secured and we connected to police security alarm system.


• Hotel has impedance grounded neutral system.


• Twice a year we do volunteer fire, electrical and gas inspections.

ECO-label

We do our little contribution to make our hotel eco clean and nature friendly.

• All lamps in our hotel are A-class energy savers.


• 85% of all hotel equipment is A-class energy savers.


• We reduce to minimum rotation of paper documentation and replaced it with electronic.


• We use only recycled paper for our brochures and office needs.


• We control and buy eco kitchen-stuff only from trusted partners.


• We use water safe equipment.


• We use only eco friendly wash and clean agents.

Charity Action

Since 2000, we did sometimes charity for children TBC department in Bukhara and support orphan children.

The budget of our charity programs make 10% of hotel profit goes to our charity programs and volunteer donations from private persons.

We spend money for food, medicaments, holiday gifts, puppet shows, toys, and clothes.
